Liquid Ink's Process
Hydrographics, also known as immersion printing, water transfer printing, or hydro dipping, is a method of applying printed designs to three-dimensional objects. The hydrographic process can be used on metal, plastic, glass, hard woods, ceramics and various other materials. Our hydrographic transfers can be applied to almost anything, including auto, motorcycle, ATV, boat, body and engine parts, guns and crossbows, game controllers, camping gear, mailboxes and many more items people dream up everyday.
We have hundreds of designs to choose from including: camouflage, animal, carbon fiber, skulls, wood, metal, and miscellaneous designs. We'll work with you to achieve spectacular results on your custom projects utilizing our trained and certified hydrographics staff.
Choose your Pattern
You begin the process by choosing from hundreds of pre-printed patterns and base coat combinations.
The "Dip"
We take your choice of film and lay it in the dip tank. The water acts as the medium to transfer your print into the form of your part or product. We then add an activator to soften the base coat to allow for proper adhesion.
Protective Coat
Once the part has been painted and dipped, the final stages include applying a clear coat. Options of clear coat include high gloss or a soft touch flat clear coat.
